Val Zubiri wrote to me about a book of his - Memoirs of an Artist as a Masseur
by Artist Valentino Zubiri
Read the following:
Chapter 1
Quick Explanation
I used to live on the north side of Chicago.
I did some art shows.
Then I did massage.
When I did figure drawing, I drew the body, but could not touch it. It was not frustrating. It just did not feel right.
When I started to do massage, I touched the body, but did not draw it. It did not feel right either, because at first I was not used to touching a naked body. Later on, I got used to the nakedness. I got better with my nude art. Of course I did more than nudes as far as art was concerned.
Then I moved downtown to where people are. I timed my move with with the publishing of my first annual yellow-page advertisement.
Around that first month that I moved in, the phone book came out. My phone started ringing. I accepted incalls and outcalls, and did massage more often than ever, touched more lives, not merely bodies. Things were never the same again.
The chapters do not necessarily progress chronologically.
I like to call this book my Volume One. The one before I became a famous artist. If ever I did.
He has just self-published his first ever book, and he has sample chapters here:
He hopes he does not offend you with his views, because he has gotten hate mail because of chapters 32 & 33.
